Der erste Tag in Estland (Our first day in Estonia)

Nach einer langen Anreise am gestrigen Tag, sind wir heute gut ausgeschlafen in den ersten Tag an unserer estnischen Partnerschule gestartet. Nach einer offiziellen Eröffnungsveranstaltung mit Musik, Gesang und Tanz ging es zur Tour durch die Schule.

Zur Luunja Keskkool gehen momentan 241 Schüler, die sich auf die Klassen 1 bis 12 verteilen. Insgesamt 24 Lehrer unterrichten an der Schule, die Klassen sind also eher klein und es herrscht eine familiäre Atmosphäre.
Nach dem Mittagessen in der Schulkantine stellten uns die estnischen Partner ihr Projekt 'Let's do it' vor: Einfach mal helfen beim Fruehjahrsputz in der Umgebung! Eine gute Idee, die an alle anderen Länder weitergegeben werden sollte.
Die Schüler nutzten danach die Zeit zum intensiveren Kennenlernen bei verschiedenen Spielen, bevor es zum Empfang am örtlichen Rathaus ging. Viele Informationen über die Gemeinde Luunja wurden präsentiert und Fragen konnten gestellt werden.
Den Abend verbrachten alle Gastschüler in ihren Familien und erkundeten die Umgebung.

After a long journey yesterday, we started well into the first day at our Estonian partner school. After an official opening with music, singing and dancing in the morning, we started a school tour, during which the building was presented to us.
Luunja Keskool currently has 241 pupil, who are taught in classes 1-12. All in all there are 24 teachers so classes  are rather small and there’s a familial atmosphere. 

After lunch at the school canteen, the Estonian students presented their project `Let’s do it´ to us: helping with the environmantal spring cleaning! A great idea, which should be handed on to other countries. 

Before we went to the local city hall for a little reception, the students used the time for an intensive get-to-know with the help of various games and a photo hunt. Later a lot of information about the community of Luunja were presented by the  mayor and questions could be asked.  

In the evening all visiting students spent time with their host families and explored the area.
